Martin Luther promoted the Christ Child or Christkindl as a gift bringer and the date of giving gifts changed from December 6 to Christmas Eve. But now she has strong competition from Santa Claus as gift bringer.
You men and women who were once children too, be children again, says the Christkind, as she greets her guests on Nurembergs Main Market Square to open the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt.
