Mehr Infos
Due to demographic factors, a significant shortage of entrepreneurs, managers, and skilled workers already exists - and this trend is expected to continue increasing. At the same time, vocational education is becoming less attractive, as more young people prefer to pursue academic studies. While university graduates possess theoretical knowledge, they often lack the practical skills that small and medium-sized enterprises urgently require.
There is limited permeability between vocational and academic education. The BA&VET project aims to increase permeability and establish dual study programmes with integrated vocational training. These programmes are structured in three stages, allowing for the attainment of three educational qualifications: a vocational training qualification, a recognised advanced vocational qualification, and a Bachelor's degree. The relevant study modules should also be usable independently of the degree programme for delivering vocational continuing education.
The objective is to train professionals and managers who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as relevant professional experience. This is intended to provide businesses with the urgently needed new generation of professionals, managers, and entrepreneurs, thereby strengthening their competitiveness. To achieve these ambitious goals, two dual Bachelor's degree programmes were developed, practically tested, evaluated, and implemented: Business Administration & Sustainable Management of SMEs and Management of Renewable Building Energy Technology. This publication sums up the results of the project and BA&VET and shares its insights.
