This newly published book shares profound teachings given by The Gyalwang Drukpa during the 1st European Bike Yatra in both the early morning and evening hours.
The Gyalwang Drukpa's pilgrimages are more than just journeys across the landscape of this earth. They are paths that lead to one's true nature, to greater mindfulness, to a deeper awareness of the need to protect the Earth, and to a new way of living together - in which spirituality means taking responsibility for all forms of life. Only when we understand the importance of the Earth and all living beings does true compassion grow - and with it, the drive to act, preserve, and protect.
What we do to the Earth, we ultimately do to ourselves - because we are not separate from it, even if we have forgotten that. Every tree cut down, every source polluted, and every species lost leaves a wound in our own habitat.
But in the same way, every good deed also heals us: a planted tree provides us with oxygen and beauty, a clean river offers clarity, and a protected animal gives us hope. Those who protect the environment safeguard our hearts, our humanity, and the future generations.
The Gyalwang Drukpa is the founder of the international humanitarian movement Live To Love and a widely recognized environmental advocate. He is the head of the Drukpa School of Buddhism in the Himalayas. As part of the secular Live To Love initiative, The Gyalwang Drukpa is setting new standards together with the kung fu nuns. They cycled thousands of miles on Eco Cycle Yatras through the Himalayan mountains of India and Nepal, raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and equality, and collecting many tons of plastic waste along the way. The Gyalwang Drukpa also gained international attention at the UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice in 2018 and the Change Congress in Berlin in 2019. At the invitation and initiative of Gianna Wabner, president of the Live To Love Germany Foundation, he participated in the 1st European Bike Yatra from Hamburg to Copenhagen.
Gianna Wabner is the president of the Hamburg-based Live To Love Germany Foundation, which puts the motto `Love is action´ into practice in everyday life through numerous projects. As the spokesperson for Gyalwang Drukpa in Europe, she organized numerous visits by the founder of the Live To Love initiative, including his participation in the Climate Conference in Katowice in 2018. In 2024, she arranged the first European Bike Yatra, with Gyalwang Drukpa attending as a guest of honor, along with Kung Fu nuns from Nepal.
Gianna Wabner also works as a healer and lecturer in holistic medicine within the scope of ethnological-scientific studies, and she serves as a consultant and coach for executives.
