The Technical Handbook for Radio Monitoring HF is aimed to shortwave listeners, who are interested in digital signals on shortwave. On over 4000 pages with many figures and tables most digital waveforms are described. The book shall help shortwave listener to identify these digital signals which can be heard today. Digital waveforms like FSK, PSK, DSSS aso. with the used protocols and alphabets are described. This includes spectrum and other detailed pictures and the most important technical parameter. Additionally comprehensive tables are helping to identify the different user on shortwave. To cover as much signals as possible the book is divided into two volumes.
Roland Proesch was born in 1960 in Kiel. He studied communication technology in Hamburg at the University of the German Forces. Since 1977 he is a licensed radio amateur which has enabled him to pursue one of his most profound interests, namely all types of digital communication. He worked in the field of all different kinds of radio monitoring, electronic warfare and satellite communication for nearly 45 years.
