Anton Volkov was born in Moscow, Russia, and has been living and working in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for many years. Argentine Tango has shaped his professional and artistic life since January 2000.

As a dancer, teacher, and performer, Anton Volkov brings extensive international experience in teaching, stage performance, and social dancing. His approach to tango combines technical precision with musicality, body awareness, and a deep sensitivity to connection and communication within the couple. He shares this knowledge with students and readers worldwide, both in his classes and in his written work.

Anton Volkov understands teaching as a continuous learning process. For him, true teaching means remaining a student. Tango is not a rigid system, but a living and evolving art form that adapts to people, their music, and their different phases of life.

His particular passion lies in the cultural and musical depth of Argentine Tango. To keep this connection alive, he continuously refines his skills, experiments with movement and expression, and regularly travels to Buenos Aires, the city where tango was born. Among his most influential teachers are Diego Riemer (El Pajaro) and Mercedes Espinel, Damián Essel and Nancy Louzan, Nito and Elba Garcia, Juan Fossaty and Gimena Aramburu, Roberto Reis and Lucila Cionci, Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa, Demian Garcia and Carolina Bonaventura, as well as Maria Trubba and Facundo Gil Jauregui.

At the center of his teaching stands the conscious direction of energy, attention, and communication between leader and follower. The goal is a dance that unfolds as a dialogue: clear, light, musical, and present.
