On a social media website formerly known as Twitter there was a thread that documented my decline in to madness. «unemployed into madness» was an attempt to work through my unemployment in a poetry form as a slow evolving thread. After 444 days I have basically been forced to surrender, I descended into madness. Over the next few years of therapy and a grueling process of getting social welfare payments that uphold my dignity. During those grey years nothing could be done, nothing has been done. Yet in a way everything has changed. I merely was able to exist, even this existence was shrouded in stigma and financial despair. Then two years ago, alongside the approval of my mental invalidity, came a therapeutic breakthrough by accepting my situation my reality. These days I try to find my place again in a world where I have to learn to accept that I will probably never work again.
Not because I don't want to not because I didn't want to but because that is just reality.
And it is not only my reality, it seems it has become the truth for many young and old all around the world.
At the end I despaired. Yet if you are reading this I have found hope again.
And I also hope others in my situation will find it too.
Antisocial Philanthropist and rediscovered hedonist. Just as a dyslexic writer, ambi-sinister waiter and squinting photographer. PictureBandit has been my alter ego for art on the internet for ages. Although many of these pages and websites no longer exist I decided to keep the existance I built arround it alive.
