Mobility is changing - whether we choose to notice it or not. Rising energy volatility, increasing costs, and growing regulatory pressure are reshaping the foundations of personal transport. The combustion engine, once synonymous with independence, is becoming part of a system that is harder to predict and harder to control. Electric mobility offers a different structure. This book provides a clear, practical analysis of: real costs over time, infrastructure and everyday usability, environmental impact beyond simple assumptions, and the strategic question of when to act. It is not a technical manual. It is a decision framework. For anyone asking not if, but when to adapt, the answer may be closer than expected.

I write about the themes of my everyday life. They are not abstract, nor distant. They arise from observation - from the small shifts in routine, from conversations, from the gradual realisation that what once seemed stable is beginning to change. In the context of the current war involving Iran, and the resulting developments in the price of oil and petroleum products, I found myself reflecting more closely on the question of mobility - particularly electric mobility. What had long been a technical or environmental discussion began to take on a more immediate and personal relevance. Fuel prices are no longer simply numbers at the pump. They are increasingly the visible outcome of global events. The disruption of energy infrastructure and transport routes in the Gulf region has once again shown how sensitive and interconnected the system is. Even short-term instability can lead to significant price increases and economic pressure for consumers. In such a situation, the question is no longer theoretical. It becomes practical: To what extent should one remain dependent on a system that is shaped by forces far beyond one´s control? And conversely: What alternatives exist that allow for a greater degree of stability and autonomy? Electric mobility, in this context, is no longer merely a technological option. It becomes part of a broader consideration - one that connects everyday decisions with global developments.
